Legoland!!

In the first week that we moved here we heard that there was a Legoland nearby and ever since Carter has been dying to go! How can you beat an entire theme park made out of Lego for someone who plays and builds with it almost daily still. So this past Friday we made our way out to Legoland Windsor on what felt like a very long bus ride (probably only an hour and a half, but it feels like an eternity when you're excited)! We also thought it would be a good way to celebrate Canada Day from abroad!

The first Lego person we met at the gate! Carter couldn't stop giggling! :)

Easter Island?

Miniature land - where samples of different cities/buildings from around the world are built entirely out of lego

downtown London

wow, even the Lloyds of London building (left) and the 'Gherkin' (right)!

Carter watching Trooping the Colours, miniature style.

we can't seem to get away from the Queen! ;)

Buckingham Palace (notice the Queen isn't on the balcony with Prince Phillip, she's at the Trooping the Colours!)

it was nice to get a chance to see Stonehenge again! ;)

Edinburgh, Scotland - since we're visiting there next weekend it was nice to get an idea of the city beforehand. ;)

a ride through fairytale land

the new lego submarine ride - an adventure into the 'ocean' where they have real sharks, stingrays and fish swimming around the "submarine".  There were also Lego mermaids and treasures.

Averie was in love with the horse and the Princess.  She didn't really mention the Prince.

our little daredevil posing with a lego knight after a thrilling roller coaster ride through a castle, complete with fire breathing lego dragons. (I wish had a could have taken a picture of us while we were whipping around the roller coaster track with my legs and free arm wrapped around him, screaming while he's laughing and giggling his head off!!)

Averie was such a good sport all day even though she was just an inch too short to go on the majority of the rides in the park!

the last ride of the park that we missed before it closed :(  - a very cool dragon/viking river rapid ride... next time!
