princesses of past and present

Right in Kensington Gardens, which is right beside/part of Hyde Park, is Kensington Palace where many princesses have lived and grown up over the years. This is where Queen Victoria was born and also where Princess Diana and Prince Charles lived. They've opened up a portion of the palace for the public and created an enchanted exhibit, where you go on a quest through the different rooms to find out the names of the princesses that have lived in the palace.  I've been dying to go in since seeing the movie The Young Victoria with Emily Blunt. So after waking up to rainy weather, we decided today was the day!

After the tour, we were famished and it was pouring rain, so we headed to the Orangery on the palace grounds for some food and something warm to drink!  The construction of the Orangery was commissioned by Queen Anne as a greenhouse to store her plants in the winter.

Hot chocolate for the kids and tea for us!

We decided to try the afternoon tea and had fun eating all the little sandwiches and tasty treats! Mmmmmmm scones with jam and cream!!!
