our first tourist outing

February 19, 2011

After spending several days setting up the flat and unpacking, we set out to tour the London Aquarium.
First stop, the Tube (Earl's Court Station is 5 mins from our flat).

Crossing Westminster Bridge with the London Eye and the building with the aquarium behind us.

 Mesmerized by the sting rays...

The best part: the shark tank!

Touristy shot of Big Ben

our flat

We haven't taken pics of the inside of our flat yet, but here are a few from the outside. We are on the second floor directly above the car in the pic. We have the balcony level with the bay window (living room) and the window to the right (Carter's room).

Here is our neighbourhood with our park across the street (photos taken from our balcony). It has a little playground with a climbing house and slide. It's nice to have something so close by!

lots of changes!

Averie left her crib in Calgary and got her first big girl bed in London!

This is how we found her in the morning after her first night, so far so good!  But then half way through the second night we heard a loud 'thud' and found her on the floor. :(  Now we have two of our dining chairs blocking her in. (Back to a 'crib')

the journey

We have quite a bit to catch up on, since arriving in London 3 weeks ago! It feels like it's been months, first with all the preparation to wrap up our house in Calgary and then to find one and set up in London!

We had a long journey ahead of us starting with a flight and overnight stay to Toronto and then a 5 am wake up to get back to the airport. Travelling in Pj's and lots of stickers helped!

It took quite a bit of convincing and some tears, but we finally managed to get a very tired little girl to nap on the plane. Luckily, the floor made a quite hide away.

All in all, we managed to make it in one piece!
