a night out!

While Donna and AL visited they gave us the greatest gift of all; time out just the two of us! Jenn and I decided the best thing to do would be to hit a pub for a drink, see a show and then a late dinner.

For the pub we decided we wanted a taste of home so we headed to The Maple Leaf in Covent Garden!

They record hockey games from the night before (most games start at midnight our time) and play them the next day.  They serve Canadian Beers (Moosehead and Sleemans) and they serve up Canadian pub food like poutine and chicken wings.

After a quick "pint of home" it was time to go to the theatre for our show.  We decided to forgo the typical musical theatre and try something a little different.   We went to a show called "In A Forest Dark and Deep".  The show has only two characters....anyone recognize the actor on the left?

We were able to get fourth row tickets to a sold out show.  Jenn had to carry extra kleenex for all the drool.

All kidding aside the show was great.  It's amazing how two great actors can pull off a 2 hour dialogue without a break and with great success.

After the show we were hungry for second dinner so we went to a little french restaurant in Covent Gardens that my friend at work recommended (or should I say my mate at work).  We were able to get a table on the street and the food was great.  We had Mushroom Crépes (Baked crépes with mushrooms, spinach and gruyère cheese) and Tart Provençale (Warm puff pastry with ratatouille, goats cheese, black olives, capers and basil) with wine and then Chocolate Fondant and Creme Brulee with espresso for desert!  YUM!

It was great night out; thanks Donna and A.L.
