It's been a busy month since Easter, with our trip to Majorca and then our first visitors, followed by a trip to Paris immediately after! I think we are just recovering from all of the excitement now after laying low for the past week. I've also been completely consumed by The Girls Who... novels these past few weeks and can hardly bare to do anything else when I have a free minute! But things are slowly getting back to routine, except that this week is another holiday week as Monday was Spring Bank holiday, so school is closed for the whole week!
Back to blogging... Mom and Auntie Linda were our first official visitors and arrived the day before the Royal Wedding and stayed with us for just over two weeks. It was really great to have family around again as that has been one of the hardest parts of this move. We had a lot of laughs, showed them some of the sites and hung out. Here's some of the pics from our adventures:
Dinner at our neighbourhood pub - The Blackbird
A trip to Bourough Market - actually ended up going twice while they were here, they couldn't get enough!
A trip to Portobello Market
A really great performer on the street - he sang that theme song from Grey's that I love!
A not so great performer...
Mmmmm... crepes!
We celebrated Mother's Day (Canadian Mother's Day, the UK one was in April) with an afternoon of girl's shopping in Knightsbridge and afternoon tea at the Lanesborough
Fun with a busker at Covent Gardens
On one of their last nights with us, the four of us went on a 'Hugh' hunt to a local pub! We've heard that Hugh Grant can be found on most nights at the Hollywood Arms pub a few blocks away from us, so we decided to check it out! Unfortunately he didn't make an appearance but it was still a fun pub night out with Mom and AL. We HAD to try a jug of the Pimm's that we had been seeing everywhere. It's the traditional British summer drink... mmmm, very refreshing!
Ever since we got here, the kids have been dying for one of these scooters. They are so crazy popular here, that it seems every kid has one in London! We've even seen kids that can't be more than 18 months riding these things! We've been holding off since we couldn't picture Averie riding one yet and knew it wouldn't go over very well if Carter got one. When Mom got here she wanted to get the kids something and of course the scooters were first on the list!
Fun with Grandma at the park!
London bridge is falling down... :)
dance party!
just like Grandma!
We miss you guys already!
