paris, part deux

While in Paris we couldn't pass up the chance to take the kids to Disney Paris!
Sometimes with a 2 and 4 year old sleeping patterns in a strange apartment can be difficult to count on  so we didn't tell the kids until the morning of the day that we were going to Disney (just in case we didn't get any sleep that night and decided we couldn't handle it!).  Needless to say, they were excited!  Well, Carter was, Averie only really got excited because Carter did!

For the most part, Disneyland Paris is almost identical to the Magic Kingdom in Disneyland, Orlando and every bit as magical. Except that everything was in French, including a lot of the narration on the rides!

Unlike the Orlando Disney, you could walk right through this castle!

The first ride we went on was the buzz lightyear ride.  It was a lot of fun, like a video game.  Each car has two laser guns and you spend the whole ride trying to shoot targets on the villains.  The car has a counter that keeps score, pretty fun!

Carter was proud of his buzz lightyear laser gun (an extremely noisy toy we instantly regretted and has been hidden ever since we got home!).

Next was a bit of a change of pace from Buzz; snow white and the seven dwarfs.  Averie did a lot of covering her eyes in the dark rides.  It's amazing how many fairy tales are actually quite scary when you see it with your 2 year old!  Very frightening villains.

Of course Averie had to ride a horsey on the big carousel!

And of course, we couldn't visit a Disney park without a spin on the Small World ride.  10 minutes of "its a small world" played over and over and over in many different languages!

 With some familiar sites; LONDON!

 PARIS!

and the best of all, CANADA!

Waiting patiently for the teacup ride!  Suddenly this ride seems very British now that we've lived in the land of tea time.

Nothing better than Daddy in an oversized teacup!

Averie's favourite ride on the trip was the Dumbo ride!

We also visited the Alice in Wonderland area which included a hedge maze full of the characters and in the queens castle.

Carter pretended but Averie was actually scared of this guy.
 It was another great day!
